Neem isā€Æa natural herb that comes from the neem tree, other names for which include Dogonyaro in Nigeria,Ā Azadirachta indica and Indian lilac. The extract comes from the seeds of the tree and has many different traditional uses.ā€Æ Neem contains chemicals that heal Malaria and might helpĀ reduce blood sugar levels, heal ulcers in the digestive tract, prevent pregnancy, kill bacteria, and prevent plaque from forming in the mouth.

Growing Neem

Neem is usually easy to grows and does this best onā€Ædeep, well-drained sandy soils. However, it often fails on silty or micaceous loams and silty clays, in depressions with slow drainage, and in soils with high or seasonally fluctuating water tables.Ā 

Sowing and harvest period

A neem tree normally begins bearing fruit afterā€Æ3-5 years, becomes fully productive in 10 years, and from then on can produce up to 50 kg of fruits annually.Ā
